April turned out to be a horrible month weather wise, it has rained nearly every day, and it’s been quite cool. No more work has been done on the clearing of the land at the front of the house, since early in the month. We did spend a week in Madeira which was very nice, although the weather there was not particularly good.
My brother and his wife joined us for a few days having driven down. They took a leisurely journey back through France, weighed down with our wine and local olive oil. Last week we had solar heating added to the swimming pool, although to date we have not had enough sun to see if it works!
Our first guests arrive this week, and it looks as though they will come to rain, which is a real shame. We visited the botanical gardens in Coimbra last week, it would have been much nicer in sunshine.
