I have always been concerned that the authorities here do too little to promote Central Portugal as a holiday destination. The area is full of natural beauty, friendly, helpful people, and plenty of options to see the real Portugal. We have quiet roads, vineyards, Dao wine, mountains, warm weather, museums, old villages, castles, manor houses, carnivals, skiing in the winter, the Atlantic coast and Spain nearby. I was very pleased to see a new website www.portugalholidays.com which sets out to promote all things Portuguese.
