Another New Year, we are entering our eleventh year here and have no regrets about leaving the U.K. We spent two weeks in the Algarve over Christmas and the New Year, it was a nice break, with sunny warm weather, a little warmer than here at home. Since we have been back it has been cold, and there has been quite a lot of rain, but not nearly enough yet to replenish the rivers and streams. The small stream below us is flowing again, and the top of the soil is wet. There has been work done in the next village to connect main drainage, and it looks as though this will continue down the road to the top of our village. A connection has to be made from the other side of the stream to the pipes outside our house, so probably a bit of disruption to come.
