We returned home recently after a two week holiday, to find that there had still been little or no rain. On the Sunday after our return, there were a number of fires visible on the horizon, and it was very smokey. Monday was just terrible, initially we could not see the mountains, and then as the day progressed it became so smokey, that we could not see far at all. Two of our friends from Seia were evacuated, and could not return until Tuesday. They said some friends of theirs were burnt out completely. A terrible few days with huge fires and a large number of deaths.
