We finalised the purchase of the Quinta in early August, at nearly the same time that we moved out of the Mill. Since then we have been living in a cottage just down the road from the Mill.
Last week we visited Portugal to collect the keys, speak to the architect, and meet some builders. We were shown round some previous work for each of them, it all looked pretty good, and we have still to decide on which one.
We are currenlty finalising our plans for the Quinta in order to try to achieve a firm quote from the builders. It looks like we will have two apartments for our own use and four for letting to holiday makers. As these plans are different from the original plans submitted by the previous owners, we may have to re-apply for permissions! There is also a possibility that the fire regulations make make a couple of the apartments too costly.
Our furniture is due for delivery early next month, so we should be resident before Christmas.
