It is now March and it only seems like yesterday that we returned from the Algarve after Christmas! We have just had a lovely week of warm sunshine, during which we visited Nazare, Obidos and Peniche. We travelled down by car to Nazare, walked along the front, had a nice lunch, and then went and had a look at the surfing beach. Although the waves were not huge, it was possible to see the swells building and get an idea of what it could be like on a windy day. We then travelled to Obidos, a really beautiful village within the castle walls. We stayed overnight in the Pousada, I have to say I was not that impressed with the standard of accommodation. We spent the evening walking through the village and then around the castle walls, the views were fabulous. In the morning we went to Peniche, spent an hour or so looking round the old prison, and then drove back home. This week the weather is back to cool and wet, but the forecast for next week looks much better.
