It’s been a long hot summer! Once the rain stopped towards the beginning of June, the weather has been lovely, although it has been a little over the top in the last couple of weeks when we have had upper thirties, and a couple of forty plus days. We have not done much in the garden and there are loads of weeds. We have asked our neighbours for help, and they are coming on Wednesday. We have the first rain forecast for late tonight, which should help both the garden and the grapes. After a late start there have been a huge number of fires throughout the country, with a small one across the valley, which was extinguished by a helicopter. Last weekend we went to Linhares and both of us had a hangglider ride. The views were absolutely fantastic, but it is not something we will be doing regularly.
